How do I know if my iPhone 13 mini has eSIM?
Look for “eSIM” or “Add eSIM” in Settings, or check the model number in Settings › About: Most versions of the iPhone 13 mini support eSIM, but some, sold in certain markets, only take physical SIM cards.
Does the iPhone 13 mini have a SIM card slot, or is it eSIM only?

Check four things in Settings › Cellular: the travel eSIM line is turned on, it is selected for Cellular Data, Data Roaming is on for that line, and your iPhone is not locked to a carrier. Then restart it.
What if the eSIM is stuck on “activating”?
Activation needs an Internet connection: stay on Wi-Fi for a few minutes, then restart the phone. Many travel eSIMs only connect once you land, so “No service” before you leave is normal.
